Our client is currently seeking a metallurgy superintendent to maximize the efficiency of their operations in East Africa.
Responsibilities
- Direct and guide the metallurgy team, ensuring complete compliance with environmental and safety standards
- Training and development of local staff on a regular basis
- Integration of geological data from grade control process and metallurgical data from lab test work and process operations
- Assess and manage quality of final concentrate, making sure deviations are studied and noted
- Provide information to processing team which enables them to understand the significance of product quality
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification; metallurgical/chemical engineering
- At least 10 years’ experience in mining operations base metal flotation processes; 5 of which should include plant commissioning experience
- 3 years holding a Metallurgy Superintendent role
- Strong metallurgical accounting skills and ability as well as understanding of product marketing (preferably in flotation concentrate production)
