Supply Manager – East Africa
Our client is currently seeking an individual with a strong mining industry procurement and logistics background for their operations in East Africa.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a supply chain management policy and relevant systems for operation of the mine
- Draw up annual operational budgets
- Coordinate the supply teams to promote and achieve strategic objectives on departmental and organizational level
- Ensure legal compliance in accordance to all laws and regulations, including health and safety
- Prepare proposals and plan projects
- Lead and support supply teams to meet their targets and development plans
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in purchasing or procurement
- At least 15 years’ experience in the mining industry, preferably open pit
- Preferred experience with copper and gold mines and various modes of transportation
- Previous Africa expat experience absolutely essential
- Good understanding of mining construction, operations and projects
