Our
client is currently seeking a senior plant metallurgist to support the
Process Operations team for their operations in East Africa.
Responsibilities
- Assist process operations team to achieve higher technical safety awareness
- Develop standard procedures for operating all plant metallurgical processes
- Daily/weekly ore blending strategy development with geology team
- Meet all metallurgical accounting requirements
- Promote constant improvement and cost-reducing strategies as well as production outcomes
- Direct HAZOP sessions when plant changes are put forward
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification i.e. Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering
- 10 years’ mining operations experience which involve base metals flotation; 4 of which must involve process plant commissioning
- Minimum 3 years in a senior metallurgist role and having supervised subordinates in metallurgy teams
- High level of skill in metallurgical accounting and having trained juniors in the metallurgy teams with little to no background of this sort
Contractual Info
- Reporting to Metallurgy Superintendent
- FIFO rotation; single status
